PTSD Resources
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a serious, potentially life threatening result of experiencing traumatic events, such as was, disaster and others. Increasingly, it is recognized as a very serious result of wartime service.
Despite this, it is still very little understood, and among Gulf War veterans, is largely overlooked due to the overriding concerns of the very serious health concerns so many veterans have.
Post-traumatic stress does not indicate some weakness of mind -- in fact, it is the normal response of the mind to events which are essentially impossible to process at once. For that reason, those who served in combat may have problems months or even years after a war.
